The ICX Transportation Group has an open position in it's Honolulu office for a Transportation Engineer. The position duties & requirements are listed below.
Position Duties: Prepare, research, write, and format technical and feasibility reports analyzing and assessing ITS and information technology industries and make recommendations for implementation. Collect research materials and compile report data. Evaluate research materials for application to required technical analyses. Prepare graphic concepts for report figures and coordinates their completion. Coordinate report compilation, reproduction and distribution. Develop ITS plans and projects (e.g., plans, specifications and estimates (PS&E); and requests for proposals (RFP)) through the preparation and modification of reports, exhibits, specifications, plans, construction schedules, construction cost estimates, studies, permits and design. Conduct field data collection of project sites. Coordinate the scoping of ITS design projects with staff of various other organizational components as required. Coordinate the preparation of scoping reports with alternatives and cost. Attend and conduct public information meetings, neighborhood board meetings and other public forums to inform and to acquire public input relevant to the proposed ITS projects. Coordinate with local planning and regulatory agencies to understand requirements.
Position Qualifications: Must have at least a bachelor's or higher degree in civil engineering. Foreign equivalent degree accepted. Must have passed a transportation engineering course in undergraduate or graduate civil engineering studies that teaches the highway capacity manual and traffic signal optimization and synchronization. Must have experience with transportation modeling software, such as HCM/HCS or Synchro. Must have practical experience in the application of statistics in the analysis of data beyond the requisite statistics courses for a Civil Engineering degree program, such as in a group project or independent study. Must have passed a computer programming class in C or Matlab or related computer language.
