Job DescriptionFounded in 1921, Straub Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai'i. With over 200 physicians who are leaders in their fields, Straub provides its patients with diagnoses and treatments for more than 32 different medical specialties, including bone and joint, heart, cancer, endocrinology/diabetes, family medicine, gastroenterology, geriatric medicine, internal medicine, vascular and urology. Straub is home to the Pacific Region’s only multidisciplinary burn treatment center. The hospital consistently brings new technologies and innovative medical practices to Hawai'i, such as minimally invasive cardiac surgery and total joint replacement.At Straub's Outpatient Treatment Center, board-certified physicians evaluate and treat all types of cancer and blood disorders and patients can receive blood transfusions, chemotherapy, nutritional support, antibiotics and other IV therapy. Our Certified Oncology Nurses are experienced in providing education and emotional support to patients and their families. The Straub Cancer Center consists of board certified physicians, nurses, registered dietitians, outpatient and inpatient staff and a quality of life professional. In addition to treatment and therapy, the Center offers family education and support group sessions to help patients and their families cope with these challenging situations.As the Patient Service Representative, you will help to ensure that Straub patients and their families receive warm, friendly and considerate assistance at our hospitals and clinics. You will act as a liaison between patients and the professional staff by facilitating clerical and reception responsibilities and assisting in a variety of administrative tasks. These include: interviewing, registering, admitting, updating and creating patients’ medical records; performing accurate and timely processing of all professional and technical fees generated by department providers; and performing cash handling and collection.
