DescriptionAn up-and-coming firm has teamed up with Accountemps to find an efficient Staff Accountant to join their growing team. In this position, the Staff Accountant prepares journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility. You will also participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and look over schedules for the reporting processes. An involved position, you will be producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This Honolulu, Hawaii based firm has a long-term temporary position available, and offers an innovative work environment where effort is rewarded.Your responsibilities in this role:
Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision
Be responsible for analysis of income statements and balance sheets and communicate findings to management
Maintain monthly payment schedules
Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP
Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Take part in various department-wide initiatives
Ready complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed
Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner
RequirementsJob Requirements:
Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Great attention to detail
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Financial reconciliation experience
Quality experience with Microsoft Excel
Practical knowledge of credit
Well-founded grasp of Full Charge Bookkeeping
Knowledge of bank reconciliations
Account reconciliation experience desired
Experience with general ledger
Proven knowledge of Bookkeeping Functions
Strong familiarity with account reconciliation
General familiarity with debits
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis
Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Efficient in ERP systems
Recent and relevant accounting experience
