We are currently hiring for Deli Clerks (full-time, part-time & casual) to join our Malama Market Pahoa team!
Job Summary:
Deli Clerks are responsible for preparing, slicing, wrapping, weighing, pricing, and merchandising the department’s deli products. Deli products include deli meats, cheeses, salads, sandwiches, dips, gourmet and hot case items. They inform customers about our deli products and services and help increase sales by recommending additional items to customers. They work with equipment like fryers, slicers, grills, and use store intercoms to announce special promotions and weekly specials.
Other duties included but not limited to:
Cleaning, doing dishes, and other sanitation procedures
Maintain a clean and sanitary work area
Follow proper sanitation guidelines
Preparing food product such as vegetables, chicken, beef, fish, pork, etc.
Labeling/Rotating product inventory
Assist coworkers with all other duties
Restocking station at end of shift
Creating an accurate prep list for next shift
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
High school education preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be able to frequently lift 35 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Previous experience in a deli department environment preferred.
Previous experience in a production kitchen preferred.
Must be able to work weekends and holidays
