Pukalani Superette, a locally owned business serving Upcountry Maui for over 63 years, is currently seeking an Assistant Kitchen Manager to assist our Kitchen Manager!
Job Description:
Manage daily operations under the direction of the Kitchen Manager
Schedule, coordinate and appoint activities to the kitchen staff
Assist in kitchen operations
Maintain inventory and ordering of supplies
Assist with costing of prepared food and recipe creations
Ensure kitchen sanitation is according to health and safety guidelines
Assist in hiring, training, counseling and development of staff
Provide recommendations and suggestions to increase sales and efficiency in the kitchen operations
Deliver catered food orders
Required to work varied shifts and weekends. Minimum of 45 hours a week.
Required Education and Qualifications:
Previous Kitchen experience required
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills required
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Good team work skills
Must be flexible with schedule
Ability to prepare a wide range of various foods
Basic computer knowledge and skills
Schedule: Shift varies; 2:30am 7pm. Must be flexible, able to work weekends, evenings and holidays
Pre-employment requirements; Passed a TB skin test within 10 years
Standing for long periods, walking, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 lbs
Ability to prepare a wide range of various foods
