Moku Roots in Lahaina is Maui's only zero waste restaurant and we have the most innovative menu showcasing locally sourced organic ingredients.
We are a fast growing restaurant that is getting lots of publicity for our zero waste efforts and amazing food. We create less than 6 lbs of trash per day after serving hundreds of people and we are constantly making adjustments to minimize that further!
We are a counter service restaurant looking for a positive, high energy person knowledgable on health/vegan/vegetarian food to work the counter and run food. You must be personable, able to talk about our food, intelligently answer customers questions, be nice, and employ great customer service. Most importantly, however, you must be a team player. We don't tolerate any "that isn't my job" attitude or rudeness or drama. We are a team here and must always be willing to help one another out with anything whether that is cleaning or dishes or anything else.
Being vegan/vegetarian is definitely not a requirement but some relationship with health food is quite helpful as you'll be more familiar with our ingredients and style of food if this is how you prefer to eat at home as well.
Pay is hourly based on experience plus tips.
