Research Corporation of the University of Hawai‘i. Regular, Full-Time, RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the Human Resources Department, Research Corporation of the University of Hawai‘i (RCUH) core staff located in Honolulu, Hawai‘i. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws. Responsible for handling specific human resources management assignments to achieve the operational priorities and objectives of the Director of Human Resources.

Assignments and responsibilities will be on specific project and/or functional responsibilities to be assigned.

These assignments may involve all functional areas of the RCUH Human Resources Department.

Specific assignments will provide professional level support (e.g., ability to perform work assignment without training or supervision) to the Director of Human Resources to ensure goals and objectives are met within established timetables and budget.

Responsible for administering specific RCUH policies and applicable laws relating to employment, recruitment, employee benefits, payroll, HRIS, training, employee relations, equal employment opportunities (EEO), safety management, etc.

All assignments may include but not limited to audits, training products, studies, reports, and presentations. PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field. EXPERIENCE:

Three to five (3-5) years of progressively responsible experience in professional level human resources assignments.

Experience must be in two (2) or more of the following: ensuring compliance with Federal/State employment laws, administration of general/multiple human resources policy issues, handling compensation administration, recruitment/selection/hiring, employee benefits, or equal employment opportunities/affirmative action. ABIL/KNOW/SKILLS:

Knowledge of applicable Federal and State employment laws/regulations and human resources principles and concepts.

Knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).

Working knowledge of equal employment regulations, EEO/Affirmative Action Programs and workflow, or work efficiencies to improve delivery of services.

Knowledge of management principles, including but not limited to, information technology systems, payroll/tax, and administration of policies and procedures.

Requires strong organizational skills.

Requires a demonstrated ability based on work experience to plan, schedule, and problem-solve.

Ability to provide practical solutions and guidance on complex issues.

Demonstrated ability based on work experience to establish and maintain high work standards to meet job expectations, goals, and objectives.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to proficiently use MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.

SECONDARY QUALIFICATIONS:

Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) professional certification.

Knowledge of RCUH Human Resources policies.
