Job Title: Regenerative Farm Hand (Part-Time)

About Us:
Ocean Grace Farms is a 3-acre regenerative cacao orchard on the slopes of Hualālai in Kalaoa, Hawaiʻi Island. Our mission is to engage with the land in a way that leaves it better than when we arrived, nourishes our whole being, and adds to the ʻāina as a whole, while striving to craft high-quality chocolate.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a part-time Farm Hand to assist with maintaining our cacao orchard and companion plants. Tasks include weed management, planting, hand watering, irrigation checks, applying compost teas, and supporting Integrated Pest Management (IPM). This position starts with one 8-hour day per week, with the potential to grow into more hours and responsibilities for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
The role includes tasks such as operating weed whackers, hand weeding, planting companion plants, checking irrigation systems, applying compost teas, and monitoring plant health. Weekly tasks will rotate based on the farm's needs, offering variety and opportunities to engage in different areas of farm maintenance.
Qualifications:
We prefer candidates with experience in farm work, landscaping, or gardening. Knowledge of or interest in Korean Natural Farming or natural farming principles is highly valued. Familiarity with irrigation systems, companion planting, and regenerative agriculture is a plus. Applicants must be physically fit, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
Working Hours and Compensation:
This is a part-time position starting with one 8-hour day per week at $25 per hour, with opportunities for growth based on performance.
