INTRO:
Kailua United Methodist Church (KUMC) is searching for a part time Children and Family Ministry Director.
The primary purpose of the position is to lead in the planning, organizing, directing, and development of KUMC's Children and Family Ministry.
KUMC has identified the Children's ministry as a critical ministry and KUMC is in a time of redevelopment with an increasing number of children and youth, especially among the elementary ages. Our programs are clearly targeting a growing population in our community and need more focus and development to teach the Bible creatively and facilitate spiritual growth. The Director must be a spiritually mature leader who will work with volunteers, parents and staff to foster authentic discipleship among the children and youth through relationships, biblical teaching, and creative programs.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Mature Christian with a strong personal faith
Love for children and families
Strong organizational, administrative, and leadership skills
Ability to build and lead volunteer teams
Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license
Must able to successfully complete a background security screening
Ability to communicate orally and in writing to individuals at many levels
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Building relationships with the children and families of KUMC and assessing the spiritual developmental growth of the children, creating a thriving children's ministry
Partnering with the Children's Ministry Committee in assisting with the Sunday School program
Leading Children's Ministry Events (i.e. Easter Egg Hunt, Christmas Play, etc.)
Creating new children's programs to facilitate biblical teaching and fellowship
Participating in related church and staff meetings
The Director of Children and Family Ministries will be under the supervision and direction of the Pastor.
ADDITIONAL INFO:
Part-time (not to exceed 10 hours per week)
