Location: Waipā, Kauaʻi
Schedule: Wednesdays & Thursdays (15 hours/week, with potential for more)
Pay: $22/hour
ABOUT THE POSITION
Join the Waipā Foundation ʻohana as a Jr. Alakaʻi (guide) in our Food and Farm Tour! This entry-level position is perfect for someone with a positive can-do attitude and eagerness to learn. You'll be welcoming visitors to our 1,600-acre ahupuaʻa (traditional Hawaiian land division) and sharing the beauty of Hawaiian culture, values, and sustainable land practices.
YOUR DAY WILL INCLUDE:
Driving our Kawasaki Mule (5-passenger) visitor shuttle through the ahupuaʻa
Sharing knowledge about Waipāʻs work, ʻāina, and cultural programs
Serving fresh dishes featuring locally-grown ingredients from our gardens and loʻi
Supporting cultural activities and hands-on learning experiences
Helping maintain our gathering spaces and facilities
Working alongside experienced team members to welcome guests

Valid driver's license
Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
This position offers the opportunity to develop skills in cultural education, tour operations, and ʻāina stewardship—great for someone wanting to build a career in Hawaiian land-based work. Cross-training opportunities available in loʻi work, community workdays, and school visits.
