P.A.R.E.N.T.S., Inc. is seeking a part-time Parent Educator to facilitate group, community-based parenting education classes to further our mission of strengthening families and promoting cycles of positive parenting. Parenting classes are held Monday through Thursday from either 2:30-4:30pm, 5:00-7:00pm or 6:30-8:30pm as well as on Saturday mornings from 9:00-11:00am. Each class duration is 2 hours with an additional paid hour for prep and required documentation. Parent Educators have the opportunity to facilitate more than one class when available.

The Parent Educator is responsible for facilitating the parenting classes through the instruction and application of agency approved curriculum and approved classroom management techniques.

Parent Educators must work cooperatively and effectively with the Management and Administration, co-workers and program participants in providing quality assurance for programs; have the knowledge, skill and ability to work with adults in a group setting. Must be organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, trustworthy, and able to work without direct supervision; and adhere to all company policies. Paperwork requirements must be met on or before established deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology or related field from an accredited institution and a minimum of one (1) year of experience in working with parents/caregivers who harmed their children or threatened their children with harm and children who experienced harm or were threatened with harm and who experienced trauma and loss. Preferred experience facilitating adult group sessions.

Must be willing to travel to all areas of the island. Must retain appropriate levels of insurance as mandated by agency and/or contractual requirements. Must be proficient with MS Office products, including Word and Excel. Applicants must be able to pass required background checks.

Salary is commensurate with education and experience. The part-time hourly wage for this position ranges from $16 - $23 per hour.
