Kaua`i Planning & Action Alliance (KPAA) is seeking a uniquely skilled and experienced individual to serve as the President and Chief Executive Officer. Working with a Board of Directors and small staff, the President leads, develops and manages this nonprofit organization, and its flagship collective action initiative Keiki to Career Kaua`i. Since 2003, KPAA has brought people together to take strategic actions to solve the issues important to Kauai and its future. The President and CEO position requires the following skills and traits:

Leadership by providing vision, clear direction, support of collective action, and a demonstrated ability to achieve results.

Demonstrated success in grant writing and fundraising.

Ability to build strong partnerships with groups and individuals.

Understanding and experience working with cultures and issues of Kaua`i.

Ability to use data to determine community needs and assess progress.

Verbal and written communication, presentation design and delivery.

Financial management and budgeting

Relationship-building with stakeholders: partners, staff, government, community.

Understanding of, and commitment to, the KPAA mission, values and vision.

Experience in public relations and communications, including media, social media, websites, and effective presentations.

Minimum Qualifications

3 -5 years non-profit management experience.

College degree in management, social sciences, or related field.

Desired Qualifications

Professional certifications or honors in non-profit management or fundraising.

2+ years Hawai`i/Kaua`i based professional experience.

Salary Range:

$65,000 - $80,000 annually, depending on experience.
