Garden Isle Courier is hiring for the Ocean Department Customer Service.

Ocean Freight Associate candidate shall perform a variety of tasks in the logistics environment to assure good coordination, customer satisfaction, and work proactively to prevent losses.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Follow communication procedures, guidelines, and policies.

Interact with customers via emails, over the phone, or face to face.

Greet customers warmly and ascertain problem or reason for calling.

Enter pre-alerts via email, phone and or fax, into computer system by providing accurate, valid and compete information by using the right methods/tools

Maintaining accurate records of inbound/outbound ocean freight (FCL & LCL) while updating customer accounts with any delayed, damaged, missing items, etc.

Working with warehouse operations in the delivery of said freight

Closing out customer accounts with proper Proof of Delivery information, ingate/out gate tickets, Bill of Lading, and or any other documents that are required for that account.

Provide Bill of Lading templates to warehouse to ensure proper shipping occurs (loose, palletized, hazmat and or FCL) notate any labels that are needed on freight

Recognizing any special handling and or hazmat items arriving via ocean by notating in system and updating warehouse supervisor before and when shipment becomes available.
