This position will perform the tasks necessary to maintain existing Internet & in-room phone systems. Respond to trouble tickets and service outages as needed. Systems include wireless and wired networks, wireless access points and their connectivity and phone service.
Specific Duties
Troubleshooting, testing, termination and installation.
Working as smart hands in conjunction with service Help Desks.
Understanding of wireless connectivity
Ability to physically connect to equipment locally
Make changes per instructions. Example: Assigning an IP address to a device.
Ability to swap out hardware.
Operating in a professional, safe and efficient manner.
Telephony: Technicians do not need expertise in VoIP telephony; however knowledge in analog phone services such as Cat3 cabling, punch downs and toning/testing is a plus.
Job Characteristics
The compensation package includes a guaranteed fixed rate per month.
Employee will be provided company laptop.
Employee will be provided company tools, test equipment and training.
Requirements
Able to provide accurate reporting of tasks accomplished and hours consumed via computer forms.
Able to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, work in overhead and tight spaces.
Applicant must have adequate transportation & pass Motor Vehicle Report.
Must be proficient with PC.
Minimum 5 years using Microsoft Office programs (2007 and above)
Intermediate level proficiency with Excel and Word.
Fully versed in using the internet and cell phone communications.
Successful candidates must pass an extensive background check, and qualify for entry at military installation job site.
