Mercury Solar has installed more than 10,000 solar systems in Hawaii over the past 39 years and we are looking for experienced Photovoltaic (PV) Solar Panel and Solar Hot Water Installers to join our team.

PV Solar Panel Installer Job Responsibilities

The PV Solar Panel Installer is responsible for installing residential solar systems. In addition to the skills and experience outlined below, we are looking for someone who is passionate about the solar industry, is a team player, whose values are in line with our own and who has the ability to learn and follow our processes.

Your typical day as a Solar Installer

Your typical day will be spent at the job site performing the following duties:

Preparing homes for panel installation by installing roof railings and anchors

Mounting solar panels on homes

Properly flashing all roof penetrations

Conducting supervised light electrical work including running electrical DC wires to inverters and battery chargers; light plumbing work.

Cleaning and maintaining equipment

Who we're looking for to be considered for our Solar Installer opportunity you must:

Be able to climb ladders to get on a roof

Be able to work on roofs for 6-8 hours a day

Be able to crawl through attic crawl spaces and under homes

Ability to bend or run PVC conduit is a plus

Ability to solder copper pipe is a plus

You must also possess the following experience:

Some experience working on a roof

Some experience working in the construction industry

Electrical/Mechanical experience is a plus

PV experience is a plus

Plumbing experience is a plus

Other requirements

Must have a valid HI Driver's License

Must pass a Motor Vehicle Report (no DUIs in the last 7 years)

Must pass a criminal background check and drug test

Must pass present and future random drug testing
