This position is located in Pearl City, Hawaii. The Software, Simulation, System Engineering and Integration (S3I) Directorate, DEVCOM Aviation & Missile Center (AvMC) is supporting the USINDOPACOM and the K. Mark Takai Pacific Warfighting Center on Oahu, Hawaii. This includes Modeling and Simulation (M&S) to support end to end life cycle development and execution, ensuring warfighter readiness and future capabilities are realized. The IT Event Support Technician to work within our team, helping to provide customer IT support in the operation and maintenance of the virtual and physical infrastructure in deployed and on-premises computing environments. He/she must be equipped and able to work in a dynamic and rapidly expanding environment. The person is responsible for providing operational support across a wide-range of virtualized Microsoft Windows, client systems, and Audio-Visual (AV) services. Provide support for a client base of Windows 10 and Office 2016/2019/Office 365 products across physical laptops/desktops and thin/zero clients. This person will serve as part of a talented team of system administrators and engineers who collectively demonstrate excellent technical competency, reliability in delivering mission critical infrastructure, and who continually ensure the highest levels of accessibility, optimization, and security. Qualified System Administrator applicants will have a background in IT or computer systems engineering and possess a customer-oriented focus. Qualifications Education: Bachelors and two (2) years or more experience; Masters and zero (0) years related experience; four (4) years expereince considered in lieu of degree. Required Certification:- Meet DoDM 8570.2 IAT II requirements (CompTIA Security+/CASP or equivalent)
- Proven working experience in the above fields including installing, configuring and troubleshooting Windows and Linux based environments.
- Basic networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP).
- Ability to operate independently with minimal oversight.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2016/2019, Active Directory, Exchange Server 2016 through 2019, and SharePoint 2016/2019.
- Basic knowledge of IP networking, Office applications, and Windows clients.
- Knowledge in managing basic SharePoint permissions and site content. Create, disable and monitor user accounts and group permissions within Active Directory.
- Basic understanding of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and the use of PKI to secure network communications and systems.
