The Idaho State Liquor Division (ISLD) is a +$300MM state-operated enterprise comprised of 170 retail outlets throughout Idaho. We are seeking to hire a full time Financial Support Technician to work within accounts payable at our central office in Boise, Idaho. Example of Duties

The Financial Support Technician will have a broad knowledge of the organization's programs and financial requirements to prepare, reconcile, and balance financial transactions. The position serves as the first point of contact providing accounts payable support to Idaho State Liquor Stores and vendors and serves as the backup for banking and production control when needed.

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:

Use bookkeeping methods and procedures to prepare work/spread sheets, summaries, and reports

Analyze, research, forecast, and reconcile complex financial documents

Identify and correct errors and discrepancies

Explain and ensure compliance with laws, rules, policies, and regulations

Determine financial transactions are in compliance

Provide guidance or training to others in financial-related functions

Maintain financial record keeping or bill paying that is clerical in nature

Make debit and credit entries

Other duties as assigned

Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, budget, journals, etc. is helpful for this position. Successful attributes include; the ability to take initiative to get work done, learn quickly and problem solve; excellent communication, organization and customer service skills; and being professional and able to work both individually and as part of a team.

This position requires experience using computer systems to retrieve, enter, and edit financial data and use bookkeeping, research, and analytical skills to perform these duties and to develop ad hoc reports and other financial data for use by management.

Systems this position will be using extensively: Microsoft Office suite, including MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word; the State of Idaho STARS system; and the ISLD internal accounting program.

Minimum Qualifications

Good knowledge of: Financial record keeping

Experience: Researching and compiling financial information and preparing summaries and reports

Using personal computers to enter, retrieve, and edit financial data
