We are looking for a Professional leader and manager for our Adult Day Program. We run a day program Monday-Friday for our Adults with Developmental Disabilities. Our program focuses on teaching the participants things such as social skills, money management, communication, emotional control, daily living skills, community involvement, and skills to assist them to be as independent as possible.

The group spends half of the week in the community, and half of the week in the center. In the center our Adults do activities such as cooking projects, arts and crafts, board games, scheduling community activities, and conflict resolution. In the community, they do things such as volunteer at the foodbank, the art museum, coffee shops, bowling, and the zoo.

As the DS you are responsible for oversight of the program. You will spend the majority of your week focusing on participant paperwork (i.e. goals, programs, and plans), communicating with their team (i.e. guardian, TSC, and other providers), as well as provide support, leadership and training to the employee's. You will spend some time in the field with the participant, but this is not the focus.

The position requires one year experience working with individuals with Developmental Disabilities (i.e. autism, down syndrome, Asperger, etc.) and a four year degree in the health and human service field (i.e. psychology, social work, education, health, nursing, criminal justice, etc.). You must also display skills and traits such as leadership, initiative, organization, creativity, and attention to detail.
