Lakewood Montessori seeks a new Assistant Teacher to join our dedicated, caring staff. The Assistant Teacher works cohesively with the Lead Teacher to foster a nurturing, stimulating, and peaceful environment.
Duties include but are not limited to: modeling positive behaviors for children, supporting group time and outdoor play, supporting language development, facilitating transitions, preparing materials, participating in food preparation activities with the children, facilitating toilet learning, and helping to maintain the learning environment.
The ideal Assistant Teacher is positive by nature, is a good communicator, has a willingness to learn, and believes in the potential of each child.
Applicants must have a CDA or relevant education related to young children, and at least one year of experience working in an early childhood education setting with children between the ages of 15 months and 6 years. Candidates with experience in a Montessori classroom are encouraged to apply.
