Microchip has an opportunity for an entry level Engineer I-Product at our office in Bend, Oregon.
Job Description
This engineer will support the qualification and on-going manufacturing of silicon power semiconductor products.
Requirements/Qualifications
The candidate should possess a Bachelor or Master of Science degree in an engineering or physics discipline. The program of study for this degree should include relevant coursework in semiconductors, electronics, material sciences, heat transfer, statistics, and manufacturing.
The candidate must have excellent organization skills and be an effective team player. The candidate must be a good communicator and be able to work with people from varying backgrounds.
It is preferred that the candidate have familiarity with the some or all of the following: Microsoft Office, SPICE modeling, LabVIEW, computer programming, electrical and mechanical simulations, drafting, 3D modeling, and statistical analysis.
The candidate must be comfortable working with high-voltage, high-power electrical systems. These include power supplies, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, arbitrary function generators, curve tracers, and parametric testers.
Requirements/Qualifications
Author and manage product qualification plans
Author and review manufacturing technical specifications
Support the creation of customer-facing product datasheets
Guide technicians in testing and characterizing products
Design test programs to guarantee that products meet datasheet specifications
Monitor and support the manufacturing process to maintain product yield
Perform long-term reliability studies of products to help guarantee quality
Support the selection of products for new development activities
Provide subject-matter expertise of products to internal and external customers
Travel Time
The candidate should expect to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% of the time.
Physical Attributes
The candidate should be able to bend at the waist, carry things, feel things with their hands, handle things, hear things, kneel, lift, pull, push, reach, see, talk, work alone, and work around others.
Physical Requirements
The candidate should be able to lift 20 lbs, pull 50 lbs, and carry 20 lbs.
The candidate can expect to spend their day sitting (70%), standing (20%), walking (10%), and be inside at all times.
