Opportunity:

Full-time, senior, technical position within Corporate IT Services.

Responsibilities:

The IT Systems Engineer reports directly to the IT Manager.

Perform systems (infrastructure, software and Cloud/on-premise) design, build, integration, deployment and administration. Must be able to train team members on the administration of said systems.

Must have extensive experience working with a wide variety of cybersecurity technologies.

Primary duties are to perform as one of the organizations senior technical contributors; must also need to help with day-to-day issues such as desktop support, asset management, technical writing, etc.

Provide prompt systems issue resolution, and/or vendor escalations, and manage those vendor escalations to resolution; determine and document root cause and present a summary-review to the IT team as needed and train the IT team on how to recognize and resolve future occurrences.

This position requires the ability to use phone, email, instant message, SMS, face-to-face, and remote desktop, while troubleshooting, repairing, installing, patching, testing, assisting, etc.

Investigates technologies which could resolve localized or broad issues, which will bring general benefit and/or efficiencies to individuals, workgroups, and/or the organization.

Must have experience with procurement such as working with vendors to obtain quotes, requesting purchase orders from Accounting, documenting, etc.

User account, email account and computer account provisioning/administration, including password management.

May assist in ensuring the enterprise is operating at optimal efficiency using appropriate monitoring solutions, which includes alerting, and establishing resolution runbooks.

Use disaster recovery systems and tools to backup and recover data.

Work independently and problem solve with little or no supervision.

Spearhead assigned projects and provide direction for other assigned IT teammates.

Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and work outside of normal business hours as needed.

Must be willing to go above and beyond to ensure the initiatives of the Corporate IT Services and the organization are met.

Education:

A bachelor's degree in information systems or similar with a minimum of 6 years of experience in Information Technology OR

An associate degree in information systems or similar with a minimum of 8 years of experience in Information Technology OR

A formal degree can be substituted with at least 10 years of proven, progressively-responsible experience in Information Technology.

Licenses and Certificates:

Must have a driver license and insurable driving record to support function of position.

An ITIL v3 Foundation certification is preferred.

Microsoft certifications are preferred (MCITP, MCSE, MCSA etc.).

All other technical certifications are also preferred.

Travel:

Travel can be sporadic and be required at inconvenient times.

Up to 25% travel is required for projects, issue-resolution, technical engagements, meetings, training, conferences, etc.

Skills and Experience:

Active Directory (all ADDS related services).

Networking services (DNS, DHCP, etc.)

Advanced Microsoft operating system experience (Server 2012/2016/2019 and Client 10), and intermediate Linux skills.

Cloud experience such as IaaS, SaaS, PaaS, DaaS, and SaaS (Azure, O365, etc.).

Experience with Cloud to Cloud, and on-premise to Cloud, service integrations.

Understanding of, and experience working within, ITIL environments.

Extensive cybersecurity experience (perimeter, endpoint, network, email and Cloud).

Experience supporting business systems such as ERP, CRM, DMS, asset management, etc. and their integrations.

Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, etc.).

Perform task automation through scripting (PowerShell and VBScript).

Virtualization using Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware vSphere (ESXi).

Experience designing, building and supporting virtualization clusters, guest clusters, network load balance clusters, SQL clusters, etc.

Advanced skills supporting storage technologies like Panzura, Storage Area Networks (SAN), Network Attached Storage (NAS), Direct Attached Storage (DAS), Internet Small Computer System Interface (iSCSI), converged/hyperconverged, etc.

Microsoft SQL Server and other SQL server platforms.

Management of mobile devices (tablets and smartphones) and experience with MDM systems such as Microsoft Intune.

Advanced skills in optimizing, troubleshooting, disassembling/assembling hardware systems.

Experience supporting multi-function devices, plotters, and workgroup printers.

Client/server systems support, and troubleshooting, ability.

Experience with computer management systems such as imaging, patching, monitoring, software deployment, software/hardware inventory, etc.

Knowledge of networking, and advanced ability to troubleshoot LAN/WAN issues.

Experience with technology asset management.

Microsoft SharePoint Online (SPO), OneDrive for Business, etc.

Microsoft System Center Suite (SCCM, SCSM, SCOM, SCDPM, and SCVMM).

Microsoft Exchange Server (hybrid configuration and/or solely Exchange Online).

Microsoft Skype for Business, and/or Microsoft Teams (messaging, voice, voicemail, content sharing, and video).

Support of engineering and GIS applications (Autodesk, Bentley, ESRI, etc.).

Experience supporting field-based staff such as survey professionals, engineers, and scientists.

Support of professional drones, drone pilots, 3D surface solving stations, and/or Point Cloud Libraries (PCL).

Salary: $65,000/yr. - $80,000/yr.
