Headquartered in Chicago, R1 is publicly traded organization with employees throughout the US and international locations.The PAS appeals team lead position is a critical role within the PAS Appeal team. The team lead coordinates the appeal submission activities including managing volumes and staffing levels, training and being a resource for the PAS Clinical Appeals team. This position requires strengths in quality, efficiency, professionalism, and collaboration.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEffectively leads appeals teams that submit appeals to various payers in accordance with specific facility protocols
Manages PTO and scheduling requests for the appeals team to ensure proper staffing to meet the operational business needs.
Regularly (at least monthly) completes one-on-one meetings with each team member.
Monitors workflow to accurately and ensure timely completion of cases throughout the appeal workflow
Organize and assist with regular team meetings
Assists in the training inbox and QA as needed in addition to training new hires.
Monitor and mentors team members for behaviors that are outside of the R1 Way
Flexibility to work special assignments as given by operations or leadership
Assists with cases as needed depending on volumes
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCERequired: Bachelor’s degree or. Must be a BSN or higher
Current RN license in any state
3-5 years of supervisory/leadership experience
2-3 years Appeal Writing experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be flexible to cover weekends if needed
