NETWORK SYSTEMS ENGINEER: Performs Network IT functions such as design, analysis, evaluation, testing, debugging and implementation of data network equipment such as switches, routers and firewalls. Support to other team may include Site Support Team, Systems Engineering teams along with Information Systems. Duties to include but not limited to network administration, network security, and/or support of various operating systems. Analyzes, installs, acquires, modifies and network systems. Plans, conducts and directs the analysis of business problems. Analyzes, designs, acquires and implements projects for LAN and/or WAN systems. Plans, designs, acquires and implements telecommunications voice/wire systems. Generates and maintains network documentation. Follows prescribed methods in carrying out job responsibilities to ensure adherence to information security standards. Develops step-by-step change control documentation and attends Change Control meeting before implementation of the MAC. At higher job levels, may contribute to the development, testing, evaluation or design of system or infrastructure architecture used throughout the IT solution set.

Jr. Network Systems Engineer - B7550
  • KNOWLEDGE: Uses skills along with a good understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures; resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways. This job is the fully qualified, career-oriented level position.
  • JOB COMPLEXITY: Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Interacts with senior internal and personnel.
  • SUPERVISION: Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments and assistance with external interactions.
  • EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, strong computer skills and 3 - 5 years of experience.
Network Systems Engineer - B7650
  • KNOWLEDGE: Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
  • JOB COMPLEXITY: Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Internal and external contacts often pertain to company plans and objectives. Mentors junior members in the IT department, as well as customers how the network operates and troubleshooting procedures.
  • SUPERVISION: Determines methods and procedures on new assignments, and may provide guidance to other personnel.
  • EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 5 - 8 years of experience.
Sr. Network Systems Engineer - B7750
  • KNOWLEDGE: Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Some barriers to entry exist at this level (i.e., dept/peer review).
  • JOB COMPLEXITY: Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Mentors junior members in the IT department, as well as customers how the network operates and troubleshooting procedures.

  • EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 10+ years of experience.
