Organization Mission: Founded in 2001, Girls on the Run Treasure Valley is a local nonprofit organization that operates in agreement with Girls on the Run International. We are dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams. Girls on the Run is an after-school program that primarily operates at schools in southwest Idaho. The program inspires girls in 3rd- 8th grades to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. Trained volunteer coaches teach girls to listen and open up while also encouraging them to commit to a healthy lifestyle and harness their inner strength. Our mission is accomplished by giving girls the tools to make positive choices for a healthy body and mind while reducing the many risks they face today. Girls on the Run believes that all girls and communities should have access to our programs. We commit to eliminate barriers to participation, to continue creating programming that engages all communities, to be intentional about the staff and volunteer diversity, and to promote a culture of inclusion across the organization. Similar to Girls on the Run lessons, we focus on fostering a healthy workplace environment where staff feel confident to embark on creative projects, set achievable goals, make an impact on their community, and have fun.

Position Profile: The Girls on the Run Program Coordinator should possess a passion for and commitment to improving the lives and opportunities of girls. The Program Coordinator is responsible for helping manage all of the Girls on the Run programs and volunteers. This position will be a part time position (15-20 hours a week) Some of the key responsibilities include: Program Outreach and Management

  • Implement the Girls on the Run program and achieve program goals with respect to number of girls, number of sites, and demographic requirements
  • Implement and improve marketing strategies
  • Recruit new sites and volunteers
  • Manage volunteer training
  • Work with community leaders, schools, and other groups to maximize Girls on the Run success
  • Coordinate and support all new and existing sites
  • Manage and distribute all curriculum materials including coach materials, curricula, healthy snacks, and program equipment
  • Enforce all current site policies and procedures
Budget and Administrative

  • Adhere to program budget when managing program
  • Data collection & information management of rosters, girls, numbers & revenue
  • Manage all coach data, site data, and other program related files and paperwork

Required Qualifications:

  • Passion for Girls on the Run mission and the ability to comprehend and effectively communicate issues surrounding empowerment, self-esteem, body image, and whole-person health.
  • Outstanding communication skills in multiple environments and with a range of audiences (internal and external)
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and make efficient decisions
  • Flexible and adaptable
