DescriptionThis position is located in the Financial Services unit at Central Office in Boise. The incumbent will be responsible for resolving outstanding, unpaid, unprocessed and denied medical claims. This position requires accuracy, attention to detail, and excellent customer service skills. The incumbent provides a variety of records support functions; reviews and processes documents; determines and explains compliance with laws, rules, regulations and policies and takes appropriate action.Example of Duties

Accurately and efficiently processes requests for denied claims information using website portals and outbound phone calls for all commercial, and Medicaid insurance payers.

Reviews and obtains appropriate documentation for claims re-submission per insurance guidelines and requirements.

Ability to contact internal clients to obtain any missing information or documentation.

Maintains follow up on recent claims re-submissions.

Timely follow-up and completion of all daily tasks and responsibilities.

Daily communication via all electronic platforms with various individuals.

Resolve various medical billing edits within established timelines.

Identify trends and issues with insurance denials and billing edits. Verbally communicate the issues and propose solutions to leadership.

Documentation and follow-up entries in medical management systems.

Following Program guidelines in the collection of debts and billing practices.

Provide backup support for other teams. Accepts payments over the phone for other programs.

Review, complete, and process financial documents to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and policies for approval.

May deal extensively with public officials, business representatives, and/or the general public to identify and resolve non-routine issues.

Experience monitoring a records system to identify and correct errors.

Experience researching a variety of sources to resolve problems.

Experience interpreting, explaining and applying regulations, laws, or complex policies to carry out assignments.

Experience entering and retrieving data using a computerized records system.

Some knowledge of bookkeeping practices.

Experience with medical billing, insurance and medical terminology. Requires at least one year of experience.

Experience reviewing and/or monitoring the work of others for accuracy, i.e., experience as a lead worker. Requires at least one year of experience.

Experience creating formulas and employing built-in calculation functions to perform complex financial, statistical or analytical calculations in Microsoft Excel or another equivalent spreadsheet software. Requires at least six months of experience.

Experience interacting with customers via telephone and / or in person to identify their service needs and route them to an appropriate person or service to address their concerns. Requires at least six months experience.
