THE POSITION: Provides multi-staged legal representation of persons accused of crimes, conducts fact investigation, legal research, legal writing and pragmatic negotiation. The person in this position must have already passed the Idaho State Bar and have an Idaho bar license. The successful applicant will be professional, courteous, compassionate, and have the desire to zealously represent those accused of crimes.
$52,510 to $55,000 per year depending on experience

SERVING AS A DEPUTY PUBLIC DEFENDER:
Monitors and manages a full case-load
Appears in all required court proceedings
Communicates directly with clients, explaining charges, constitutional and statutory rights and procedures
Argues appeals at District Court and Idaho Supreme Court
Work week, Monday Friday, 8am-5pm
REQUIREMENTS:
Juris-Doctorate and a minimum of one year related experience and/or training. Maintains continuing legal education credits to maintain standing with the Idaho State Bar.
License to practice as an attorney in the State of Idaho.
