Product Design Engineer for manufacturer of plastic packaging
We are looking for a design engineer to work in our Idaho facility.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Create 3D CAD and detailed 2D design drawings. Use programs, such as SolidWorks, to design customer specified part models, prototypes and formed plastic samples.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Design and develop new and current projects
Create detailed drawings in 2D and 3D CAD designs
Work with mold shop to create CNC programs
Read and interpret shop drawings and production orders
Design tooling modifications as needed
Assist CNC programmer/operator with troubleshooting or making changes to designs
Maintain an ongoing, up to date project list and be prepared to report to supervisor by detailing issues and corrective actions
REQUIREMENTS:
Be proficient in SolidWorks and any other designed related software
Experience in design and engineering
Familiarity in thermoforming and CNC a plus
Possess applied knowledge of engineering principals and techniques used in design and fabrication
Be capable in using precision measuring tools
Work quickly in fast paced environment
Understand draft angles and molds
Possess excellent problem solving skills
