The Idaho State Liquor Division (ISLD) is seeking motivated and upbeat individuals to join our warehouse team as a Shipping and Receiving Materials Handler. Example of Duties

Shipping and receiving: Typical duties: receives and unloads freight both manually or with equipment such as forklifts, stock pickers, high lifts, carton clamps and pallet jacks; interprets manifests, verifies quantity and quality of order, inspects for errors and breakage and verifies items received with purchase order; partitions large material shipments and organizes, packages, ships and ensures proper accounting of sub-lot materials; delivers and retrieves materials to and from work, storage areas, and vendors; receives and releases product or materials and updates inventory records; evaluates inventory and orders materials; stocks and rotates inventory and maintains proper environment for materials; may receive, store, label and ship flammable, explosive or caustic and hazardous material; may maintain equipment and vehicles.

Inventory maintenance and control: Typical duties: participates in physical inventories of materials and products; maintains inventory records by adding, deleting or correcting orders as they are shipped or received; operates a personal computer to access, enter, correct, produce inventory and location bar codes, and ensure information is up-to-date and factual; prepares identification labels for hazardous materials and reviews Material Safety Data Sheets to ensure proper storage and handling; performs quality assurance/ quality control activities to verify completeness and accuracy; conducts periodic safety/security checks of operational and safety equipment and facilities for safety, loss control and accident prevention; answers phones and provides information; may provide advice regarding supplies or property including price and availability; may prepare damage claims for supervisor's review and signature; may coordinate disposal of surplus property and manage records retention.

Minimum Qualifications

Eligible applicants must be at least 18-years old.

Good knowledge of

- Inventory control methods

- Basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing

Some knowledge of

- Warehouse safety, accident prevention and loss control

Experience

- Handling, storing, and shipping materials or supplies

- Operating and maintaining material handling equipment

- Entering, accessing and retrieving data using a computerized records system

- Reviewing inventory documents for accuracy and completeness

Willingness to

- Bend, stoop, lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds continuously for an 8 hour shift

- Greet individuals, answer phones, and provide information to customers

- Stand and walk continuously throughout an 8 hour shift

- Work in dusty and dirty conditions

- Be trained on the operation of power and/or hand tools

- Handle and store hazardous materials

- Clean and maintain a safe working environment

The following is not required, but may increase your score on the examination:

OSHA certified forklift driver
