Journeyman Electrician – Night Shift
Location: Ontario, OR
Pay: $47.35/hr + $1.00/hr Night Differential
Bonuses: $1,500 Sign-On Bonus + $3,000 Retention Bonus
Schedule: 6pm–6am, 2-2-3 Rotating Style
(Week 1: Mon/Tue/Fri/Sat – Week 2: Sun/Wed/Thur – Repeats)
Overtime paid after 10 hours worked each day
Position Summary
This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all electrical systems and electronic equipment throughout the facility. The Journeyman Electrician will be expected to understand the purpose, function, and operation of all electrical, electronic, and instrumentation systems on site and use sound judgment when troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing plant equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Install power supply wiring, conduit, and electrical systems for new machinery, including conveyors, PLC-controlled equipment, and specialized processing equipment
Connect power supply wires, cables, and communication wiring between machines and equipment
Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctioning electrical apparatus such as motors, transformers, and lighting systems
Apply strong working knowledge of NEC and relevant electrical safety standards
Work collaboratively with maintenance teams (General Maintenance, Pump Mechanics, Electronics) to identify root causes of equipment failures
Replace faulty components such as switches, relays, sensors, and motors
Diagnose and repair electronic components including printed circuit boards
Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation
Replace motor bearings and rewire motors as necessary
Test and operate equipment to confirm proper functionality after repairs
Plan and install wiring, conduit, and related electrical apparatus in buildings and production areas
Qualifications
Journeyman Electrician License from Oregon or reciprocity states: ID, UT, ME, MT, AR, WA, WY
High School Diploma or GED
3+ years of electrical experience in industrial, manufacturing, or related environments
Experience with automated control systems
Ability to read, understand, and maintain electrical drawings, schematics, and manuals
