Kootenai Health is seeking a Director of the Medical Specialty Division to lead fast-paced and cutting-edge clinics within our organization.

As the Director of the Medical Specialty Division, you will :

Be responsible for driving the strategy and performance of the medical specialty practices division at Kootenai Clinic, aimed at ensuring strong and sustained service relationships with referring providers

Have direct responsibility for leading clinic operations in medical oncology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, infectious disease, nephrology, neurology, wound care, rheumatology and sleep medicine practices, and additional clinical practices that may be added to the division in the future

Function in a dyad leadership structure with one or more clinical division directors (physician leaders) to implement standardized practices consistent with the organization and across locations

Lead, direct and inspire high functioning clinical care teams to exceed the expectations of patients and providers

Coach to managers and supervisors on best practices to serve our patients and most efficiency aid and enhance practice performance

Develop and report on metrics for measuring practice performance internally and against industry benchmarks

Some of the core focuses of this role include;

Ensuring ongoing physician, staff and patient satisfaction by implementing relational management strategies that increase access and success

Understanding essential inputs and activities that drive the operational and financial results of the clinics supported

Identifying and managing areas of opportunity within payer contracts to provide better care and reduce costs

Completing sensitivity analysis to optimize clinic operations

To be successful in this role, you will need :

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in business, healthcare administration or public administration highly preferred

CMPE or FACMPE certification through Medical Group Management Association preferred

Minimum seven years of experience and demonstrated performance in clinical practice management

Ten years of experience in a professional business environment, preferably in healthcare

Working knowledge of value improvement and management system principles, and experience in leading change

Strong knowledge of physician practice financial administration and payer reimbursement

Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, dyad management structure with one or more physician partners

Strong knowledge of legal issues relating to hospital-employed physicians

Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to plan, implement and manage multiple projects
