We are currently seeking a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) Technician to join a field program working on a phosphate exploration drilling program for one of our clients near Soda Springs, Idaho. The SWPPP Technician will be responsible to oversee and implement all safety related activities for the drilling program. These positions will report to the projects field supervisor and work closely with our clients Mine Environmental Team. To complete this large-scale exploration drilling project this position will begin approximately mid-June and go through November.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will:

ï‚ Promote a safe and productive working environment.

ï‚ Attend pre-job training and orientation.

ï‚ Oversee all SWPPP related activities for the program in accordance with SWPPP documentation.

ï‚ Perform all SWPPP inspections.

ï‚ Update SWPPP maps.

ï‚ Relay all SWPPP issues to the construction coordinator and field supervisor.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

ï‚ Must be a safety oriented individual and adhere to all company safety requirements.

ï‚ Previous related SWPPP experience preferred.

ï‚ Previous drilling experience or exposure is preferred.

ï‚ Open and flexible to working long hours (50 hours/week) potentially in inclement weather conditions.

ï‚ Ability to walk through rough and uneven terrain in potentially adverse environmental conditions (rain, cold).

ï‚ Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist.

ï‚ Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds.

ï‚ Ability to stand for long periods of time on hard and/or uneven surfaces.

ï‚ Basic computer skills preferred.

ï‚ Good written and verbal communication skills essential.

ï‚ Must be available to perform inspections on weekends and/or days off if needed.

ï‚ Ability to work the duration of the field season, which is currently slated for mid-June through November near Soda Springs, Idaho.

ï‚ Must possess a valid drivers license and have the ability to drive a UTV/4WD work vehicle on narrow, unimproved exploration roads in adverse conditions.

ï‚ This position is subject to a pre-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test.

Position Location/Schedule:

These positions will be staffed out of the Mine Office. The SWPPP personnel will be expected to drive to the mine office. Work schedule may include rotating shifts.
