Job Summary

The First American Docutech Principal Solution Architect will be responsible for directing all activities of an assigned IT functional group, possibly multiple groups in the case of the Senior level. You will direct tactical and operational IT provisioning infrastructure to support the enterprise's business goals and align and calibrate the organization's technology deployment strategy with its business strategy. The role oversees technology purchases and services provided to multiple internal customers. Directs the development and implementation of technologies to support business objectives. The Principal Architect is responsible for the largest projects and departments.

Essential Functions
  • Typically manages large complex technical teams with responsibility for significant project outcomes having a broad business impact.
  • Establishes business objectives/priorities and technical strategies for a broad area. Develops, approves and ensures that others follow processes that have a broad business impact. Manages budget and resource allocation.
  • Makes decisions integrating knowledge of industry, competitors, product lines, business cycle, product development and financial issues.
  • Responsible for the timely delivery of his/her functional areas' commitments.
  • Required to perform duties outside of normal work hours based on business needs.

Knowledge and Skills/Technology Used
  • Demonstrated successful track record of design, development, and completion of critical, complex projects in area of functional expertise.
  • Demonstrated success of establishing, managing, and maintaining effective working relationships at the senior management level, internal and external to an organization.

Typical Education
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Typical Range of Experience
  • 8+ years experience of demonstrated management skills.
  • Experience managing a very large, complex, technical department with a large company
