To help keep up with this growth we are looking for an outstanding Buyer in our Purchasing department.Overview of Finance Data Analyst (SQL) This position plays a vital role in supporting the data, analysis, and reporting needs within our growing finance organization. This person will focus on the identification, creation and maintenance of key metrics, the underlying data elements that create those metrics, and ownership of relevant analytics tools. In addition, this person will be involved in providing accurate and timely data for ad hoc/one-off requests to support and lead data driven decision-making across the organization. This role also plays a part in the recommendation and implementation of profit improvement projects, strategic alignment initiatives, and achievement of sales and income objectives. Work with Finance to create key financial and non-financial metrics to the appropriate reporting platform in an effort to impact the growth, profitability and achievement of strategic objectives as well as better understand, track and improve operational efficiency. Support all finance data and reporting needs related to ad hoc/management requests. Partner with Finance team to develop a strategy for reporting best practices; work to streamline our current reporting, eliminate duplication, and explore ways to enhance our reporting capabilities Be the finance data expert. Own data validation, accuracy and completeness within our reporting tools, understand how changes in the business impact key metrics and actively communicate those impacts to affected parties Independently analyze proposed projects or initiatives to ascertain if they are financially justified. Provide analytical and problem solving support for key managers. Lead out in the identification and implementation of profit improvement projects. Complete special projects as assigned. Bachelors Degree in Information Systems or Finance related degree 2-3 years of relevant work experience Experience in data mining across multiple large data sets with solid understanding of relational database structure Ability to write and understand SQL using MS SQL; demonstrated knowledge of data visualization tools ( e.g. Power BI) Strong financial knowledge. Strong analytical and problem solution skills. Superior communication skills. Proficient PC skills including Excel and Word Effective interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of management. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
