Columbia Pulp I, LLC (CP). is a pulp mill in Lyons Ferry, WA that uses a patented process to make pulp and bio-polymer using wheat straw fiber. We have a collaborative culture where each employee is a critical part of a team that steps up to accomplish great things. We are the first mill located in the United States to make pulp for the paper industry from agricultural wheat fibers that will be used to produce eco-friendly papers.

The Director of Finance leads the accounting team at CP and reports to the President of the Company. Of utmost importance in this role is a demonstrated ability to act in a fiduciary capacity to safeguard company assets and treat such assets in the company’s best interest at all times. The most important skills for this position include solid experience with GAAP accounting principles, clear communications, being a team player and a solid manager, maintaining confidentiality, detail-oriented, and maintaining the highest ethical standards and integrity.

Critical Specific Skills for this Position Include:

Proven track record of financial reporting in accordance with GAAP; solid accounting knowledge base, ideally in an mfg. environment

Solid experience with financial modeling in developing budgets and business case analysis

Manage and own an efficient, accurate monthly close process that culminates in the timely publishing of monthly financial statements and management reports.

Attention to implementing and managing within a solid framework of internal accounting controls

Cash management, treasury management, managing bank relationships

Leadership abilities in managing and developing a staff of accounting professionals

Ability to roll up the sleeves and dive into the details as needed.

Solid communicator that is comfortable working equally with mill production employees, G&A staff, the President of the company and the Board of Directors

High degree of appreciation for organization, accuracy and attention to detail; deadline-driven.

Additional Qualifications:

Solid Mfg./paper industry experience

Bachelor’s degree in business with an accounting emphasis

Minimum 5 years finance/accounting experience in a senior role; 2 years HR administration

Tax planning and compliance; Experience with R&D tax credits a plus

Maintain an in-depth proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs.

Organized and excellent follow-through a must; detail-oriented and deadline-driven.

Team player with a positive attitude; flexible to adapt to changing needs/priorities.

Creative problem solver
