Senior Electrical Engineer

MEGI Engineering Inc. is a full-service engineering design and consulting firm located in the Portland, OR area, serving the pulp and paper, industrial, power and utility, and chemical markets.

Duties

Engineer and Design of Electrical Distribution Systems in Industrial facilities

Conduct Electrical Power Short Circuit and other studies

Coordination with other disciplines

Services During Construction

Communicate effectively with project team members and with clients

Participate in planning, cost development and management, and scheduling for assigned projects

Client interactions to review technical information and designs

Preparation of calculations, sketches, schedules, and specifications for projects

Develop bidders list, bid evaluations and develop purchase requisitions for approval

Site trips to existing plants to gather operating data and equipment information

Develop installed cost estimates for projects

Participate in plant start-ups and fields assignments as required

Use of technical software such as AutoCAD, Navisworks, ReCap, EasyPower

Manage to budget including earned value project / budget tracking

Participate in presentations and sales calls

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

10 + years of relevant experience

P.E. desired - able to be registered in multiple states - NEEES registration a +

Ability to travel as needed, including driving to job site, US Citizenship, US Driver's License

Strong written and verbal communication

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)

Must be able to work independently as a self-starter

Northwest business/client relationships a +

Pulp & Paper experience and Mill Experience a +

Must be able to safely work in operating mill environment, walk, climb stairs

Interact professionally and collaboratively within a group setting
