We work with Mining, Light Metals, Hydro Electric, Cement, Aggregates, WWTP, Utilities, DOE, Manufacturing and Wood Products. We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Designer to work and grow with us at our Liberty Lake, WA headquarters.

About Your Work:

You will work with engineers, designers, and clients to design industrial Electrical Engineering projects in Power and Controls/Automation. Youll have the opportunity to automate factories, saw mills, mines, manufacturing plants and hydroelectric facilities. Your creativity is required.

The best candidates possess functional knowledge of electrical power and automation systems. They can perform assignments designed to develop professional engineering work, knowledge and abilities. It requires application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks. Demonstration of judgement is required on details of work and in making decisions and adaptations of engineering alternatives. In general, the Senior Designer will be responsible for performing electrical design duties on projects including power distribution, electrical design, process control design, and instrument and control design.

Essential Responsibilities: Technical

Provide complete design services to meet customer specifications, drawings, and control & power system requirements

Design electrical layouts, drawings and wiring diagrams, working from instructions, vendor or client drawings, proposals, specifications and other information provided by Engineers and/or clients. Examples are:

o Plot plans, cable routing, grounding, lighting plans, site electrical plans, single line diagrams, load calculations, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, cable and conduit schedules and other electrical plans, details, sizing and layout

o P&IDs, detailed industrial control panel layouts, bills of material, schematics, wiring diagrams, PLC I/O drawings,

Network Communication, Hardwired interlock, block diagrams, and general details

o Assembled documentation packages, provide estimates, schedules, material lists, design concepts, design specifications, design drawings and other documentation for facilities which are reviewed by an Electrical Engineer and/or Project Manager

Have a strong ability to read power and motor control circuits and working knowledge of power and/or instrumentation design (Conduit sizing, simple loop diagrams, etc.), perform calculations for lighting, voltage drop, grounding, service/feeder size

Comply with standards and procedures of H2E, its clients and customers

Have a working knowledge of NFPA 70, NEMA ratings and area classifications

Use computer aided design equipment and/or conventional design stations, technical handbooks, calculators, and ability to obtain technical information from various sources to implement designs

Perform fieldwork and technical research - visit construction/plant sites and fabrication shops during design phase on as required basis

Leadership / H2E & Project Management

Has a working knowledge of project execution concepts and practices

Assign tasks to and coordinates with Staff Designer and Drafters, administrative staff and supports Power and Controls/Automation Engineers

Assist to complete projects within scope, on time and on budget with safety and quality requirements met

Monitor project execution via project schedules

Perform Client Management (CM) activities and foster new relationships for the benefit of H2E

Communications

Provide technical guidance, training, and development of staff through review of project work involving electrical design with quality and accuracy

Collaborate with engineering staff and other personnel to find solutions throughout the design process

Represent the organization in communications and documentation pertaining to aspects of assigned engineering tasks

Interact with contractors, clients, and facility operators

Possess effective oral and written communication skills

Ownership / Growth / Direction

Can work independently with minimal supervision upon assignment of tasks. May require some technical and/or procedural help

Continual self-improvement in latest technology and equipment in the industry

Continual self-improvement in interpersonal skills and effective oral and written communications

Follow Company policies, procedures and work instructions as found on the Company network

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of 10 years electrical design experience with a background in Consulting Engineering or Industrial/Utility facility design/operation

Degree or Certificate in Electrical or CAD/Drafting Technology or equivalent is preferred

Efficient use of Autodesks AutoCAD for preparation of electrical drawings (AutoCAD Electrical Package experience a plus)

Experienced with national electrical codes and electrical industry standards

Experienced in process controls, and medium/low voltage electrical distribution

Have general knowledge of other related disciplines (mechanical & structural)

Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks

Effective oral and written communications and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work through the resolution of project related issues

Must be self-motivated, results oriented, and be flexible to work well under tight schedules in a fast-paced team environment

Efficient in the use of MS Office software suite: Outlook, Excel, Word, OneNote, Project and Access
