What You Will DoAs an RN at Our Lady of Peace, you'll join a team of professionals dedicated to person-centered, compassionate care. As a leader of our care team, you'll provide direct nursing care to patients in the long-term care setting in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. In this role you will: Administer nursing care to residents under the direction and supervision of the Unit Manager and/or Nursing Supervisor. Responsible for the delivery of resident care through the process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.Under the supervision of the Unit Manager, the RN working in the facility provides direct resident care, evaluates outcomes and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal resident care.

Administers and controls narcotics and medications in the facility as directed by nursing management.

Assists physicians with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct resident care as directed.

Assists physicians, co-workers and families as needed in time of stress or crisis.

Monitors and ensures accuracy of recording on resident medical records. Maintains all required reports, records, statistics as directed by the Unit Manager.

Contributes daily to updating the nursing care plan. Documents significant assessments to update resident records and charts.

The RN monitors and supervises the performance and follows the implementation of resident care by the CNA's on his/her unit.

Enhances professional growth and development within the Nursing Home through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops.

Attends all in-services and meetings as required.

The following duties may be reassigned:Perform supervisory responsibilities on a as needed basis.

Orients, instructs and trains assigned personnel.

Ensures adequate stock of supplies and proper functions of equipment within Nursing Home.

Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

What You Will NeedLicensure / Certification / Registration:Must possess Basic Life Support Certification credentials, required

Current NYS Registered Nurse Licensure, required

Education:Graduate from college or diploma in the field of Registered Nursing

Work Experience:On the job training.

One year medical-surgical or skilled nursing home experience, preferred.
