Nez Perce National Historical Park and Idaho Conservation Corps is recruiting a Trade Skills Intern and Preservation Maintenance Intern beginning November through April (24 weeks), 40 hour service weeks Monday through Friday. Internship will focus primarily on the field of historic preservation through application of the Secretary of Interior's Standards for Treatment of Historic Properties in a hands-on project based environment. The intern will be introduced to the preservation ethics and learn assessment and treatment skills necessary for successful historic structure and cultural landscape management and preservation. These skills will be taught though mix of project-based restoration work on park historic structures and cultural landscapes, and though education and mentorship from experienced park staff at a pace that allows for learning and understanding. The program will allow the intern an opportunity to learn, develop, and practice historic preservation trade skills, while gaining an understanding of their utilization and connection to facility management and overall park operations.

Required Qualifications:

Willingness to learn and participate in a team environment

Ability to work outdoors in remote settings and inclement weather

Ability to lift carry 30lbs

Current driver's license

Duty/Housing Location:

Interns will be required to make their own housing arrangements in the local Lewiston, Idaho area.

Terms of Employment:

This is a full time, 24 week internship. Workload may vary and will require in some instances longer working days and some weekend responsibilities.
