JOB TITLE
Funeral Home AssistantPart-time and On Call
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the funeral director in day-to-day work including answering phones, light cleaning, care, removal and transport of human remains, and organizing/maintaining files in accordance with all state, local and company policies and procedures.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs removals of deceased from hospital, nursing home or residence.
Transports decedent to funeral facility.
Performs duties with strict adherence to Identification policies and procedures.
Maintains and ensures removal vehicle is clean inside and out and is properly maintained.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
High School or GED equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
None requiredtraining is provided
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Professional appearance required
Professional phone etiquette
Ability to follow instructions given over the phone or in person
Ability to work and communicate effectively with others
Ability to work with kindness and compassion for the deceased and their families
Ability to maintain composure in challenging situations
Must be able to work on a rotating on call schedule
Must be reliable
Must be able to lift 75lbs
