Assistant Plant Manager
Rising Springs 2020
Rising Springs seeks a full-time Assistant Plant Manager to join our team in Pine, Idaho. 109 miles from Boise and 51 miles from Mountain Home, Pine is an Idaho gem – a destination retreat for outdoor enthusiasts with less than 50 full-time families living in the remote area. The Assistant Plant Manager will work alongside a 20+ year experienced water master to manage our Rising Springs plant.
Your Core Role:
GENERAL PLANT SAFETY
Report directly to the Plant Manager
Maintain a safe work environment, keeping work area clean, safe and organized for workers
Conduct and document monthly safety meetings and assist Plant Manager with ensuring all plant staff are trained and executing tasks in compliance with OSHA regulations
COMPLIANCE
Thoroughly understand our Preventative Controls plan (formerly HACCP), Operations Manual and Quality Assurance Manual and perform tasks in accordance with them in order to ensure plant compliance with company policies and government regulations
Maintain proper documentation for all plant related activities and manage electronic document system for record keeping
Receive training for certifications as required
Assist with executing scheduled cleaning and maintenance work, according to manuals
Continually work toward making choices that keep activities and materials consumed in alignment with B-Corp mission; maintain documentation of approved B-Corp suppliers
BOTTLING LINE OPERATIONS
Assist Plant Manager in organizing and managing day-to-day activities for plant operations
Assist in managing a team of workers in achieving daily production goals
Coordinate with Plant Manager in resolving plant issues in a timely manner
Provide training and guidance to workers to meet performance standards
Assist in routine pre-production activities including CIP, system sanitization, water testing etc.
Assist with bottling production line operations, filler machine operations and operate fork lift
Assist in troubleshooting problems with bottling line operations, including mechanical issues
Schedule routine inspection and maintenance of plant equipment to prevent machine downtime
Maintain video library dropbox with documentation of all plant processes
Determine resource requirements, work allocation and deadlines to achieve production objectives
Implement continuous plant improvements for increased productivity and scrap reduction
Implement cost reduction initiatives to minimize plant and labor expenditures
Conduct all tasks required in order to be back up to Plant Manager
INVENTORY MANAGEMENT
QA inspect, record, manage and initiate reorder of incoming supplies and materials for bottling line maintenance and raw materials
Provide management with regularly scheduled physical inventory counts
Ensure materials, supplies and equipment are continuously available for production workers
Minimum Requirements:
3-5 years of relevant experience.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Mechanical experience in related industry.
Assistant management experience in related industry.
Technologically savvy and quick-to-learn new programs.
Experience with software programs such as Microsoft Office & Google Suite.
Positive attitude with a professional demeanor.
Proven ability to switch quickly between tasks and oversee staff.
Proven ability to communicate very well, both written and orally.
Preference will be given to candidates who also have the following skills/experience:
5+ years of relevant experience.
5+ years of bottling line experience.
5+ years of assistant management experience of a bottling line.
Compensation:
$50,000 - $54,000 DOE annual salary plus relocation and a housing stipend will be provided for the right candidate. This position is full-time and benefited after 30 working days. Benefits include 90% company paid premium of medical with HSA, 100% company paid dental, vision, short term / long term disability, $50k basic life, AD&D and a 401K (employee-only contributions).
