Position Announcement
Shar Shalom Orphanage near Vilcabamba in Malacatos, Ecuador is looking for spirit-filled Christian(s) to help with running a newly built, fledgling orphanage. A couple/retired couple is preferable as a new, two-bedroom house is provided on the campus without charge. Anyone with a heart to serve Jesus by caring for children/cooking/housekeeping/gardening/caring for chickens will be a blessing. The missionary/missionaries would need to have monthly support for food, transportation, and personal needs. Spanish speaking is a plus, but not required. A current passport for entry will be necessary. You will also need to download the “WhatsApp” app on your mobile phone to speak directly with the director, Gloria Carmain, of the orphanage.
Sitting on a hill, the nearly four-acre campus overlooks the town and is located in an area with “perfect” climate. The grounds feature a swimming pool and orchards of bananas, pineapples, papayas, and other delicious fruits. Tropical flowers grow in abundance, and a stream marks one boundary of the land. This is a beautiful place and offers many possibilities for you to fill a great need, contribute your skills, and pursue ministry.
Specifically needed is a handyman, grounds keeper, and house/kitchen staff—basically, people willing to pitch in where needed. The usually unappreciated jack-of-all-trades sorts are exactly what fits the bill here. All positions offer opportunities to help with the children, travel, and reach the unsaved of this beautiful but spiritually neglected country.
