Responsibilities

We are seeking a happy, positive person to serve as the patient and optometrist contact regarding appointment scheduling, billing procedures, out-of-pocket expenses and transportation requests.

Job Duties

Using the electronic health record program, Next Gen, schedule various patient appointments for clinic exams and surgery procedures.

Obtain patient demographic information including address, insurance, transportation needs, and referral source.

After Insurance Eligibility Department provides information from patients insurance for procedures, call patient to advise them of benefits and any balance that may be due from patient. Arrange a payment schedule with the patient when necessary. Fill out a cash payment agreement if needed for patients appointments.

Provide knowledgeable, courteous assistance to optometrists and their staff members regarding surgery, referrals and billing procedures.

Answer incoming phone calls professionally and providing assistance in a helpful way.Â

Other related duties as required.

Office Hours

Monday-Thursday 8:00 am-5:00 pm Friday 8:00 am-1:00 pm This positions schedule will vary according to patient schedules and clinic needs.

Skills Required:

Working computer knowledge “ experienced in Microsoft Word

Good communication skills, written and spoken

Pleasant, cooperative, caring attitude

Good listening skills

The ability to work with a team to set and to achieve common goals

Attention to detail

Excellent organizational skills

Good driving record with driving record check upon job offer
