DIRECTOR OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

Beef Northwest Feeders, progressive cattle feeding operation and industry technology leader with over 200 employees, has an exciting opportunity for an Director of Information Technology. The Director will oversee the IT Department for Beef Northwests four cattle finishing facilities, two growyard facilities, seven administrative offices, and multiple subsidiary operations and offices. The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

Management experience in Information Technology.

Technical experience with networks, servers, databases, software, and hardware.

Strong communication and leadership skills and ability to effectively lead a team.

Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.

Ability to analyze data and interpret reports.

Strong project management skills.

Self-motivated with strong work ethic.

Familiarity with programming languages and cloud computing services and storage.

Willingness to adopt and maintain pursuit of Open Source software.

With the assistance of the CFO the IT Director is responsible for the oversight of our technology systems at all of the companys operational sites and administrative offices. Specific duties include:

Work with the Executive Management Team to identify and analyze complex business needs within the company and recommend technical solutions.

Participate with the Executive Management Team in the development of the companys Strategic Plan annually, followed by quarterly Strategic Initiative reviews.

Continuously review new technologies and their potential to improve the companys efficiency and profitability.

Manage various IT projects by developing detailed implementation plans. Deliver timely results with periodic updates to the CFO and Executive Management Team.

Direct all IT operations to execute production standards to meet the companys needs.

Ensure consistency and maintainability of existing technical applications and infrastructure.

Complete regular visits to all operations to support on-site systems as well as feedyard managers and employees.

Perform liaison duties between users, operations, and programming personnel in the areas of system design, modifications, or troubleshooting.

Implement, maintain, and enforce IT standard operating procedures with all employees, partners, and vendors.

Maintain the integrity and security of all of the companys networks and data.

Participate in all hardware and software evaluations.

Maintain positive working relationships with the companys partners and vendors.

Daily management of IT staff priorities and workload. The IT staff is made up of Network Administrators, IT Technicians, and Programmers.

Conduct annual performance, wage, and goal reviews with all IT staff members.

Create annual IT operating budgets, approve all IT expenditures, and review and present budget versus actual reporting monthly to CFO.

Assume additional projects and responsibilities as the need arises.

This position is based out of the Beef Northwest Corporate Office in the Scenic Baker Valley of Northeast Oregon. The area offers abundant outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing, fishing, rafting, and boating while just two hours from Boise, Idaho and Tri-Cities, Washington.
