The GIS Analyst 3 is responsible for managing GIS programs including customer support, data creation, data editing, performing analyses and map creation. The GIS Analyst 3 is responsible for collaboratively supporting large GIS projects. Job Type : Contract Location: Northern Idaho - combination of remote (work from home) and onsite in various locations in Northern Idaho. POSITION DETAILS:
- The main goal of this position is to improve Idaho's GIS data readiness for Next Generation 9-1-1.
- Supporting the Idaho Public Safety and other Technical Working Groups (TWG) under the Client support the development and implementation of standards for GIS datasets required and highly recommended for NG9-1-1.
- Support the Idaho Public Safety TWG in the development of best mapping practices for GIS datasets required or highly recommended for NG9-1-1
- Work with others on an inventory to assess the quality of NG9-1-1 required data in Idaho to set priorities, and measure progress over time
- Work closely with Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) in Northern Idaho to support data creation, and data QA/QC
- Communicate the need for high quality GIS data for counties listed above and other Stakeholders
- Operating a GIS System as a specialist or analyst (only one year required if combined with college degree in GIS or related field)
- Operating (this includes mapping, editing and geoprocessing) ArcGIS Pro software
- Experience working on large projects that require communicating with, and coordinating between a variety of stakeholders
- Experience creating maps and applications in ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise Portal using configurable templates
- Experience Scripting workflows and geoprocessing in Python and/or Model Builder OR College level class in automating GIS processes
- Experience working in the Public Safety sector
- Candidate must have a valid driver's license AND reliable vehicle
