What will you be doing? The mission of the Electronic Software Delivery Services (ESDS) team is to enhance and support the Naval Enterprise Network (NEN) end user environment including all stages of end user software application packaging for delivery, upgrade, and security updates. As the Application Packager, you will be responsible for creating, managing, and seamlessly delivering and/or removing end user software packages ensuring quality, accuracy, and precision in all known configurations. You will adhere to the guidance and standards provided while striving for continual improvement in everything you do. You will work in a fast paced, time critical environment supporting the warfighter and bringing innovative change and value to the entire Navy/Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI). Responsibilities:
  • Package and distribute Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) software.
  • Standardize and improve application installation.
  • Identify and mitigate vulnerabilities with short suspense response and testing.
  • Distribute and apply packages to all end user seat configurations.
  • Apply DoD security standards.
  • Provide complete and thorough testing and troubleshooting of all packages for error-free distribution.
  • Complete all documentation as required.
  • Follow an implementation plan to ensure a fast, controlled, successful enterprise push of all software.
  • Accurately update government catalogs in a timely manner.
  • Ensure software licenses are kept current.
  • Adhere to all processes and procedures and suggest areas for improvement.
  • Provide technical support as required with possible after-hours or on-call requirements.
  • Manage your work queue using a ticketing tool.
  • Work in a diverse team environment.
Requirements:
  • Secret security clearance required with experience working in the DoD environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business, or related field with 3 years of relevant experience.
  • DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II certification.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Microsoft Windows 10 operating system and one or more of the following: Microsoft Active Directory, Systems Center Configuration Manager, or Tanium.
  • Skilled in scripting (e.g. PowerShell).
  • In-depth understanding of Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) and Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) applications.
  • Skilled in testing all aspects of software applications and delivery.
  • Ability to use a ticketing tool, such as BMC Remedy or ServiceNow, to manage and update tickets.
