The full Pay Range is $96,700.00 - $179,300.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.BENEFITSEmployees and their eligible family members have access to a wide array of employee benefits, such as medical, dental, vision and life insurance coverage. Employees have access to disability and AD&D insurance. We also offer health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, as well as health savings accounts, to eligible employees. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan and employer-funded retirement plan. Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Additional details regarding BECU Benefits can be found here .IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE:As the Manager Accounting at BECU, you'll be a key player in ensuring our financial integrity and operational excellence. You will oversee critical accounting functions, including projects, capitalization of fixed assets, internally developed software, and cloud hosted software, leases, prepaids, compensation and benefits, and more. Your expertise in GAAP and regulatory compliance will be instrumental in guiding our financial strategies and ensuring accurate financial reporting. By acting as a liaison between accounting and various stakeholders, you'll provide accounting expertise and essential insights in support of enterprise-wide projects, shaping the financial future of BECU.WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Lead and Develop: Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to your team, fostering a high-performance culture. Conduct regular evaluations and offer constructive feedback to support your team's growth and success.
Ensure Compliance: Review departmental work to ensure adherence to GAAP, regulatory requirements, and internal procedures. Ensure all documentation is complete, correctly classified, and adequately supported.
Financial Oversight: Manage financial processes, including producing financial and regulatory reports, , and review of journal entries and account reconciliations. Analyze financial data and draft narratives or footnote disclosures as needed.
Internal Controls and Issue Resolution: Proactively assess and enhance internal controls, offering recommendations for financial issues. Assist various departments with operational accounting challenges to ensure smooth operations.
Chart of Accounts Management: Oversee the maintenance of the chart of accounts, ensuring that changes are properly approved and documented. Collaborate with finance stakeholders to manage account postings effectively.
Strategic Planning Support: Play a key role in the annual planning process, partnering with finance and business units to provide expertise and sound judgment in establishing assumptions and modeling data.
Policy and Control Implementation: Work with financial control and policy teams to research, document, and execute key internal controls over financial reporting.
Data Utilization: Develop and maintain knowledge of enterprise data and tools to effectively leverage data in fulfilling your responsibilities.
System and Functionality Enhancement: Research, recommend, and implement new functionalities to meet accounting and enterprise business needs. Maintain proficiency in the financial accounting system and related modules.
Process Documentation and Continuity: Ensure that all processes and procedures are thoroughly documented, and that staff are cross-trained to maintain service continuity. Adhere to record retention requirements.
Performance Reporting: Define and maintain reports that measure team success using both quantitative and qualitative metrics.
Other Duties: Undertake additional responsibilities as needed to support the team and the organization.

QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent work or education-related experience required.
Minimum of four years of accounting experience required plus 1 year of leadership experience required.
Experienced in assessing financial data, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights that support informed decision-making and enhanced financial strategies required.
Demonstrated ability to lead and oversee various accounting projects, from planning to execution, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements, while managing resources and timelines effectively.
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a high-performing accounting team by providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages continuous learning, professional growth, and adherence to BECU’s values and standards.
