Registered Nurse (Level 1 & 2)

Facility: Oak Creek Rehabilitation Center, Kimberly, ID Status: Non-exempt

Direct Supervisor: Director of Nursing Indirect Supervisor: Administrator

Supervises: None specifically, but will be a shift leader when directed

Scheduling Requirements: FT Evenings/Nights

Travel Requirements: Minimal to none

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse will normally oversee the clinical work and therapeutic interaction performed during a shift, and serve as a resource to team members in providing competent and compassionate clinical caring. The Registered Nurse will also work with the Director of Nursing and Administrator to resolve more significant issues that may arise during the course of care.

Job Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse assumes daily responsibility in the following areas:

1. Ensure the safety of patients in the course of their daily living and treatment;

2. As directed, oversee the clinical and other care tasks of LPN, CNA and NA staff that are assigned to the floor;

3. Assists individuals that call inquiring about potential admitting residents;

4. Conducts and leads admission and discharge processes when necessary;

5. Perform thorough assessments during admission and discharge when necessary;

6. Maintain and review charts, documentation and other reporting to ensure accurate recording of treatment;

7. Makes necessary phone calls, updating physicians of resident conditions, calling for new orders or change of orders.

8. Maintain controls for certain drug treatments;

9. Monitor, record, receives reports and report symptoms and changes in patients' conditions;

10. Implement physician treatment orders as directed;

11. Doing any necessary draws for blood work or urine analysis;

12. Order necessary medications from pharmacy;

13. Ensure care is provided in compliance with applicable regulations and company policies, and account with integrity incidents that are deemed reportable;

14. Performs investigations and problem solves for resident incidents and accidents when necessary;

15. Conducts "Fall Scene Investigations" after a resident fall has occurred;

16. Work well with all team members to ensure the smooth operation of clinical and non-clinical operations;

17. Maintain "Incident and Accident" logs

18. Respond appropriately to family and team member concerns; and

19. Communicate effectively and supportively with family members about resident conditions.

20. Attend required in-services, or other required meetings.

21. Follow all safety protocols and policies as directed.

22. Other tasks, duties or projects as assigned.

Essential Qualifications (Level 1)

1. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Idaho; and

2. Ability to think and work independently or with direction, and communicate effective with other team members.

3. Documented experience as a registered nurse, or leadership experience;

Preferred Qualifications (Level 2)

1. Non-violent Crisis Prevention and Intervention certification.

2. Current IV certification

3. Any degrees, certifications or other qualifications to verify expertise.
