Essential Duties/Responsibilities
ï§ Provides individual, group, and family therapy.
ï§ Participates in interdisciplinary treatment planning.
ï§ Evaluates data to identify causes of problems of individuals and to determine advisability of counseling or may refer to other specialist or institutions.
ï§ Conducts counseling or therapeutic interviews to assist individuals to gain insight into personal problems, define goals, and plan action reflecting interests, abilities, and needs.
ï§ Provides occupational, educational, and other information to enable individuals to formulate realistic educational and vocational plans.
ï§ Follows up results of counseling to determine reliability and validity of treatment used.
ï§ Documents in medical record according to requirements of company and regulatory agencies.
ï§ Provides crisis intervention consultation.
ï§ May be required to provide a minimum number of hours weekly, as specified by superior or director.
ï§ May teach various educational classes (parenting, domestic violence, anger management, etc.) and provide on-site therapy.
ï§ Participates in program development and staff in-services.
ï§ Performs administrative functions consistent with the needs of the program.
ï§ Participates in scheduled meetings and trainings as required.
ï§ Provides crisis intervention consultation.
ï§ Supervises client care and ensures physical and emotional safety of each.
ï§ Ensures the appropriate utilization and teaching of course curriculum.
ï§ Conducts assigned therapeutic training of instructors.
ï§ Conducts and directs program-specific experiential group activities as assigned.
ï§ Participates in program evaluation, planning, and development.
ï§ Provides appropriate communication with parents, educational consultants, and related professionals.
Educational/Licensing Requirements:
Education or Equivalent:
-Masters degree from accredited school in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field.
Certificates/Licenses:
-Licensed LCSW or MFT (Milieu therapist work under a licensed therapist); first aid and CPR; must have
Crisis Prevention
-Institutes NVCI or equivalent training in the past 12 months; valid drivers license also required.
Knowledge, Skills, & Experience:
Minimum of two years of experience with inpatient, outpatient, and/or mental health care; must have direct clinical and case management experience, group leadership experience, and knowledge regarding rehabilitation philosophy; strong clinical land interpersonal skills, ability to lead and direct work of others, and excellent written and verbal communication skills; intermediate level PC skills.
