The Cary Company is seeking an Art Director to support our Addison, IL office. Duties will include managing design team which includes a Graphic Designer, Digital Filmmaker and Photographer. Art director reports to our Marketing Manager. Additional responsibilities include designing new marketing pieces, editing digital product photos, bringing new ideas for our website, graphic design work for our Ecommerce websites, as well as overseeing company design standards. This position also requires completing projects by coordinating with outside agencies, art services, printers, etc. In addition creative flair, up-to-date knowledge of industry software and a professional approach to time, costs and deadlines is required.We are looking for someone that is innovative, and who will bring new fresh ideas and concepts to our company, as well as manage others to meet the overall company vision. Oversee & Manage Design Team (Jr. Designer, Photographer, Digital Filmmaker, Interns)
Work to design and develop visual concepts including banners, webpages, HTML emails, ads
Contributing to the company development standards
Managing online brand and product campaigns to raise brand awareness.
Assist with improving the usability, design, content and conversion of the company websites
Research new technologies and keep the company at the forefront of digital marketing and design
Work closely with the Marketing Team to create collateral, promotional and advertising pieces
Support the Sales Team in creating necessary sales material
Requirements:
Degree in Graphic Design or Related Field
7+ years working within a design firm or other creative team environment
Strong, conceptual thinker who possesses a wide range of design capabilities including a solid background in digital, print, packaging, branding, typography, catalog production, retail graphics and also some web design experience
Comfortable working with and managing outside vendors and printers
Demonstrate strong organizational skills in order to juggle multiple projects at the same time
Successfully manages their time, and help team members do the same
Able to focus, with a keen attention to detail
Open and receptive to design critique but also able to represent their own work and stand up for design they believe in diplomatic manner
Resourceful: Able to problem solve and find multiple design solutions without a lot of direction
Able to work quickly and efficiently
Able to collaborate with other members of the Graphic Design team and effectively communicate their own ideas.
