JOB DESCRIPTION:The Industrial Engineer is responsible for the optimization and process improvements of existing product lines in a nonunion aerospace facility, which will flex between two facilities in Bloomingdale and Glendale Heights, IL. The position has critical areas of responsibility for identifying and implementing continuous and process improvements using lean and SPC tools, collaborating with all departments, and driving results to improve the manufacturing process.The successful candidate is energetic, and success driven with deep technical expertise. They will have exemplary leadership, team building, problem solving, and time management skills and serve as a role model and leader to peers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with Engineers and Purchasing team to improve manufacturing process.
  • Analyze and design manufacturing cells that conform to Lean process flow and safety standards.
  • Determine and eliminate root causes and diminish occurrences in the manufacturing process.
  • Maintain and improve technical procedures for manufacturing processes
  • Monitor, maintain and improve statistical process controls.
  • Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP); Support all current and new product introduction.
  • Utilize production metrics to identify waste and areas for continuous improvement (Pass rate, Scrap, flow, Throughput).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Manufacturing/industrial/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. An equivalent combination of education and work-related experience may be acceptable.
  • Two to seven years previous manufacturing engineering experience required.
  • SolidWorks/Auto Cad experience a plus.
  • CNC/Grinding knowledge
  • Hands-on, team oriented and committed to business improvement processes. Demonstrated results implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to identify complex problems, evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic with resilience to overcome obstacles.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Suite Software.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with and influence all levels of the organization, including senior leadership.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of machining and materials, preferred.
  • 5S standards experience preferred.
  • Prior experience working in aerospace manufacturing industry is a plus, but not a must.
